Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and Maximator Hydrogen GmbH launch cooperation partnership for dual study program

Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and Maximator Hydrogen GmbH announce the signing of a cooperation agreement to strengthen dual training.

The agreement was signed on December 18, 2023 by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Viktor Wesselak, Vice President for Research and Development, and Mathias Kurras, Managing Director of Maximator Hydrogen GmbH, in the presence of Dr. Pascal Leibbrandt, Dean of Studies for Regenerative Energy Technology. The cooperation was initiated by the university's Transferwerk.

The partnership aims to establish close cooperation within the scope of the dual study programs at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. It should contribute to the mutual supplementation and deepening of existing skills. The university is striving to continuously expand its range of dual and practice-oriented courses of study and to enable a close integration of theory and practice in the course of study. This cooperation is a further step towards this goal.

The combination of university studies and professional practice allows students to gain practical qualifications in a company alongside their university studies. This not only promotes the professional development of students, but also strengthens the loyalty of skilled workers to regional companies.

Mathias Kurras emphasized the importance of the cooperation: "We are looking forward to further collaboration. There has been intensive cooperation between the university and Maximator Hydrogen for a long time. Now we also have the chance to get to know students at an early stage through the dual study program - this is a very good opportunity for our recruitment of skilled workers and offers students an insight into their future careers as engineers." One potential topic for dual students would be the field of hydrogen. Maximator Hydrogen sees itself as a small beacon among the hydrogen locations in Germany and offers ideal conditions for this.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Viktor Wesselak is also optimistic: "The dual study program is another effective way for us to promote young talent. This cooperation enables us to bind skilled workers to regional companies at an early stage and thus support sustainable development in the industry." Dr. Pascal Leibbrandt adds that "the dual study model offers an attractive combination of theory and practice that is likely to appeal to potential students".
